Dream Farms, Inc. is a faith-based, educational, and therapeutic organization which has developed the concept of using recreational horseback riding as a cognitive therapy for chronically and terminally ill children. Through interaction with the horses, the child's physical and emotional well being is improved. The primary purpose of Dream Farms, Inc. is to maximize the potential of children with chronic or terminal illness. We will provide physical, recreational and cognitive therapy to improve motor functioning, social skills, mental ability and the general quality of life, which will also enable these chillren to cope with their neccesary treatments or procedures. The medical criteria that will be followed by Dream Farms, Inc. is as follows: 1.) Any child who has been diagnosed by a physician as terminally or chronically ill but is capable of holding themselves upright on a horse without endangering themselves, volunteers or the horse will be allowed to participate in all activities 2.) Any child who has been diagnosed by a physician as terminally or chronically ill but is NOT capable of holding themselves upright on a horse without endangering themselves, volunteers or the horse will be allowed to participate in all activities except horseback riding as long as they desire to do so.
